Job description

  • Daily cleaning of the staterooms
  • Cleaning of public areas, toilets, and reception area according to requirements
  • Correct handling of guest laundry
  • Control and distribution of externally cleaned laundry and uniforms
  • Correct and careful handling of all cleaning products, materials, and housekeeping equipment
  • Rotating laundry duty including washing, ironing, and folding activities
  • Distribution of daily programs, gift orders and turndown services in allocated staterooms
  • Welcoming and escorting guests to their staterooms on embarkation day
  • Checking and reporting technical defects of staterooms to the supervisor / reception
  • Luggage duty on embarkation and disembarkation day
  • Conduction of stock-takes and inventory according to company procedures
  • Organisation and planning of embarkation / disembarkation
  • Preparation of opening and closing ships at start and end of season
  • Assistance in other departments upon instruction from supervisors (if required)
  • Participation in loadings
  • Excellent communication with other departments, especially the Guest Services, Maintenance and Food & Beverage
  • Become knowledgeable of all itinerary-related ports of call and shore excursions
  • Full knowledge of the daily program
  • Ensure excellent knowledge of any special programs such as for Suites Amenities/requirements
  • Full knowledge about safety and security procedures

Work conditions

  • Tip equally shared through all crew members
  • Vacation days: monthly vacation days on cumulative basis, after 3-4 months you can go on vacation for 14-42 days, in average employee goes on vacation two times during the season.
  • Insurance–employee will receive private health insurance throughout the contract, accident and death and permanent and total disability, salary continuation is paid after sick leave longer than 42 days
  • Length of the contract: +(-) 9 months, contract is seasonal
  • Travel expenses policy: we are refunding a maximum amount of 400 EUR after regular completion of contract. Employee has to arrange the travel onhis/her own and needs to submit a travel expense report with original receipts for reimbursement
  • Double accommodation and food included free of charge
  • Internet on board: free of charge
  • European Contract
  • EU citizen only

Requirements

  • Secondary level education / high school diploma required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience either on a cruise liner or hotel in a similar position
  • Fluent in English with good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, service-oriented and guest-focused
  • Must be able to handle confidential information and be discrete
  • Must be well-groomed and maintain impeccable hygiene standards
  • Extensive walking required and ability to stand on feet for a long time
  • Hours may vary based upon organisational needs and operational demands
  • A positive personality and professional appearance
  • Flexible and stress-resistant, team-player, shows commitment
